Avianca Taca Airlines Possibly Looks To Costa Rica For Central American Hub

Taca is analyzing airports, Guatemala and Costa Rica because of frustration with El Salvador’s lack of commitment to the expansion of its international airport and announced it is on the hunt for a hub in Central America.

According to the airline group, an analysis is required to assess whether the Government of El Salvador has the ability to initiate a master plan to expand the international airport sufficiently within five years.

Among the options being evaluated for the "hub" is the International Airport La Aurora in Guatemala and the International Airport Juan Santamaria in Costa Rica.
