Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport, Canada

In 1987, ADC, as the 73% majority shareholder in a joint venture with Lockheed Air Terminals Services Inc., was the concessionaire, developer and operator of the $600 million Terminal 3 at Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Airport.  This project was the first of its kind in the Americas.

Recognized as Canada’s largest passenger air terminals, Terminal 3 is a dual pier configuration terminal with 29 gates designed to process 7 million passengers annually, and includes a 500-room hotel facility and a 3,300-space parking structure. The concession commenced in 1988.  The terminal opened in February 1991 and won international acclaim and awards for its design and innovative methods of private financing and implantation.  The project was completed within a three year time frame, in time and on budget.  The ownership and management of the terminal was transferred to the Greater Toronto Airport Authority in 1997.
